Vacancy for Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer
Bishopthorpe Parish Council is an active Council that invites applications from self- motivated and enthusiastic individuals for the position of Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer.
The post is part time, currently 14 hours per week. Working mainly from home, the hours of work are flexible except for attendance at monthly meetings, which are held in the evening of the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Village Hall at 7pm.
Salary will be based on the National Association of Local Councils pay scale and is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will be IT literate and able to use the Microsoft Office suite on the computer equipment supplied by the Parish Council.
The role requires storage of Council equipment and files at your home address.
Duties will include
- acting as advisor to the council
- preparation of documents for meetings
- minute taking
- compilation of correspondence and filing
- As Responsible Financial Officer you will be responsible for the financial records of the council and the careful administration of the finances
- In this capacity you will prepare the Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR).
- This list is not exhaustive and the applicant would be required to carry out other additional ad hoc duties.
